摘要
The removal of five haloacetic acids (HAA5) in biologically active carbon (BAC) columns was investigated. The removal of HAAs in a granular activated carbon (GAC) column was also continuously monitored for 76 days. Carbon adsorption and biodegradation were cited as the reasons for HAA removal at the beginning and end of the experiments, respectively. The results of the study were suggested to be of significance to the water industry in the development of a new technology for the control of disinfection by-products.
