Effect of electromagnetic field on finial solidifying process of continuous casting

摘要
Through simulated situation of finial stage of continuous casting, temperature field of molten metal changed by imposing electromagnetic field was researched. Lorentz force made temperature distribution even uniformly, and also changed solidification velocity. Compared with situation without imposing electromagnetic field, solidification velocity became smaller at the beginning stage, and bigger at the last stage of solidification process. The concept of characteristic solid-phase ratio was brought forward, Lorentz force accelerated heat and mass transport of molten metal which viscosity was under a certain value, it embodied that the electromagnetic field increases the characteristic solid-phase ratio of molten metal.
