摘要
The reason that the noise of the return wave of X-type optical fiber coupler (OFC) fluctuates periodically was analyzed theoretically and observed experimentally. We took a calculation of the multiple beam interference effect of the Fresnel reflection on the interface between two fibers, and got the dependence of the return wave signal intensity on the spacing between two fibers interface. The change of return wave signal with respect to the change of two fibers spacing was observed in our experiment, and it turned out to be that the dependence is periodical and the experimental results agree with the theoretic analysis very well.
