Dielectronic recombination for oxygenlike ions relevant to astrophysical applications

The total dielectronic recombination (DR) rate coefficients for 3P2, 3P0, 1D2, and 1S0 states in Mg v, Si VII, S IX, and Fe XIX ions were calculated. It was found that accurate resonance energies for δn=0 dR were critical to obtain reliable DR rate coefficients. In addition, it was found that the fine-structure excitation channels were very important in predicting the behavior of the low-temperature DR rate coefficients for all ions covered.
