摘要
Brain is made up of different tissues. Out of these different tissues of the brain grey matter is important as it processes information in the brain. Structures within the grey matter process signals which are generated in the sensory organs or other areas of the grey matter. In order to determine the actual content of grey matter in the brain it is essential to construct 3D volume of grey matter. Using segmentation techniques grey matter is separated from 2D MRI images. As skull has same intensity value as that of the grey matter it also gets separated along with grey matter. In order to remove the skull part various morphological operations are performed. By stacking together the separated grey matter a 3D volume is constructed. Surface rendering process is applied to this volume which gives the proper illumination based on viewing angle. This model is useful for the diagnosis of various abnormalities related with this tissue. Copyright © 2017 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.
