Asymmetric postbuckling behavior of shallow spherical shells

There is considered asymmetric postbuckling behavior of an elastic shallow spherical shell rigidly fixed along the contour and loaded with uniform lateral pressure. The problem solution is constructed by the Rayleigh-Ritz method on the Margerr equations basis with displacement approximation by the Fourier series to the circular direction and by the Bessel functions to the radial one. The obtained system of nonlinear algebraic equations is solved by the method of continuation.
