Effect of pressing processes on structure and magnetic properties of the bonded NdFeB magnet

Greater pressure loss in pressing process of bonded NdFeB magnet causes heterogeneous distribution and decrease of magnet density. Effect of pressing pressure, preforming and pressing mode on structure and properties of bonded NdFeB magnet were investigated. Results show that density and magnetic properties of the magnet markedly increase with increasing pressing pressure. Combination of particle size, preforming and double action pressing etc. can also improve the density and properties of the magnet. Bonded NdFeB magnet with density of 6.5g/cm3 and magnetic energy product of 104 kJ/m3 was obtained under proper conditions.
