The new micropocessor-based single board controllers (SBC) are discussed. They condense the functions of electrical components and the spaghetti bowl of wiring into a single module. The SBC determines if the seat belt is engaged, the ignition switch turned on, the position of the blade and whether the engine functions are normal for a vehicle as small as a compact dozer. The SBC takes charge of the solenoids that control vehicle operation and activate visual indicator lights.
