Another year of growth for graphic paper demand forecast

According to a forecast report, graphic paper demand in the UK will grow by 2.5% in 2001. In 2000, total demand for graphic papers increased by almost 200,000 tons. The dominant force for this growth was overseas supplies. Domestic producers also increased sales, with deliveries to UK consumers up in excess of 70,000 tons. However, domestic demand levels in the packaging sector will be adversely affected due to tough conditions in the UK manufacturing economy.
