摘要
Concrete is a composite material made from cement, water, fine aggregate and coarse aggregate Increase of cement production and disposal of waste materials into the environment results in adverse impact on the environment. Present study is focused on finding partial replacement for cement by waste materials or waste products that are harmful to the environment. Stone dust a waste obtained from quarrying process is used as partial replacement of cement and the effect of this replacement on the basic properties like standard consistency; initial setting time, final setting time and compressive strength of cement mortar were analyzed. Addition of stone dust up to 5 to 7.5% results in strength development with consistency and setting time values being within specified limits as per IS codes. © 2016 CAFET-INNOVA TECHNICAL SOCIETY.
