Poor acoustic insulation in party walls and party floors can lead to distress, poor health, a lower quality of life and, in extreme cases, violence. There are a number of factors that affect the acoustic performance of a party wall. A system that provides such insulation is Immotus R+ from Dow Chemical. Immotus R+ is installed using a metal rail system which is installed onto the existing partition. The Immotus R+ panels are then fixed to the rails. The whole systems introduces into the room space by only 49mm.
