摘要：
The effect of feed array configuration in satellite multiple beam antennas on pattern synthesis is investigated. First it is proved that some redundant feeds which have no contribution to pattern synthesis exist in regular configuration feed array, such as hexagonal grid array. Then a type of irregular configuration feed array with no redundant feed is proposed to reduce the number of array feeds and proved to have the same performance in pattern synthesis as the regular one. In the end a very simple and effective method is presented to derive the configuration of irregular feed array from its regular counterpart.
