摘要
The global market for pulp industry was reviewed for the year 2013. Market pulp mill closings in 2013 were confined to just a few mills, the major one being the NBSK and birch mill at Tofte, Norway. This mill had been producing 440,000 mt/year of highly regarded market pulp for the European market. APP started up the former Prince Albert mill in Alberta, Canada to produce rayon grade dissolving pulp for Chinese companies. This mill had been shut for more than 10 years. Similarly, Fortress Paper spent 2013 converting the former Domtar mill at Quellivion, Quebec over to rayon grade DP. Lee and Man's new mill in Vietnam reached full capacity in 2013 in producing unbleached linerboard, test liner and corrugating medium for the company's box plants. 2013 saw a number of uncoated freesheet machines shutdown in just the US, P's 4-machine mill in Courtland, Alabama, Boise shutting two machines in International Fall, Minnesota and GP shutting one on the West Coast.
