Effect of NiCrAlYSi coating on the mechanical properties of IC10 alloy

NiCrAlYSi coating has been deposited on IC10 alloy substrate by arc ion plating and the effects of NiCrAlYSi coating on tensile, stress rupture, rotating bending fatigue properties have been investigated for the IC10 alloy. It is found that after depositing the NiCrAlYSi coating, the stress rupture life at 980°C, 200 MPa, the tensile and yield strengths at 900°C, the rotating bending fatigue life at 800°C, 447 MPa hold the same level with the IC10 superalloy, simultaneously, the plasticity does not change, only the tensile and yield strengths at room temperature decrease slightly. Namely, the NiCrAlYSi coating does not affect the mechanical properties of the IC10 superalloy substrate.
