摘要
The finite element analysis (FEA) simulation of the grinding process allows the determination of the temperature field distributions inside the workpiece which mostly cannot be observed directly. By means of the FEA simulation in combination with infrared pictures of the side face of the workpiece during the grinding process, it is possible to determine the part of the energy dissipating as heat into the workpiece during the process. However, the FEA simulation is a macroscopic model of the grinding process so that changes in the microstructure of the workpiece cannot be simulated.
