Continental shalestrata oil includes tight oil and shale oil, which is the main object of "exploring oil inside or near the source kitchen" onshore in China, and it has entered a strategic breakthrough period at present. Based on the joint research results of the 13th five year plan national oil and gas major special project, this paper systematically expounds the research progress of oil accumulation conditions, enrichment zones, sweet area & section and key technologies of continental shale strata oil in China in recent five years. ① The main types of shale strata oil can be divided into mainly terrigenous source, internal debris & mixed sediments, and carbonates. Three common enrichment factors are proposed, which are favorable reservoir facies zone, near source or source, and structural background. 33 petroleum enrichment plays of shale strata oil are optimized, with resources of about 11 billion tons. ② Sweet reservoir evaluation is the core content of sweet section evaluation of shale strata oil. It is found that the concentrated section with sandstone, mixed sediments and tuff, is the main favorable sweet reservoir section, logging sweet section evaluation and seismic sweet area prediction methods are developped with the sweet reservoir as the core, and 55 sweet areas are predicted and selected, with the resources of 3.2 billion tons. ③ Taking "sweet area+horizontal well+dense cutting" as the core, integrating key technology series such as geological evaluation, sweet area prediction, excellent and fast drilling, complex fracture network and benefit exploitation are developed, supporting the rapid development of 500 million ton shale strata oil areas. It is estimated that the shale strata oil sweet area to be identified is about 17 thousand square kilometers and the proved resources are about 13 billion tons, which is expected to become an important practical field for the petroleum industry to increase storage and production in the 14th Five Year Plan period and even in the future. © 2021, Science Press.
