Here is a graph... announces the speaker. In the engineering world, we lean heavily on our graphs and illustrations to inform our opinions, answer our questions, and drive our decisions. We discuss visuals and data in presentations, on posters, in papers, with classmates, with professors, and with mentors. Pretty straightforward, right? But there's a problem: All too often we assume that the data speaks for itself, but it doesn't. It never does. We have to speak on its behalf, to give it life and make it shine. © 1988-2012 IEEE.
