Multifractal energy spectra were studied via direct numerical simulations, concerning the cumulative density of states and the specific heat. A closed form expression for the amplitude of the log oscillations that are expected in the specific heat was given. It was demonstrated that when the frequency is high, the amplitude of the oscillations is rapidly decaying due to intrinsic filtering that can be related to the form of the Boltzmann weight.
