摘要
The general effects of dynamic loading on structural systems are reviewed. The problems of characterising crack tip behaviour under repeated dynamic loads are discussed. Results of finite element analyses on a centre cracked plate and bend fracture toughness specimens, on wave loading on an offshore structure and on earthquake loading on a steel framed building structure are reviewed. These results are used to give guidance on methods for determination of stress intensity factors and effects of rates of loading for assessment of structural integrity under dynamic loading.
