摘要
The Sioen Fibres plant, Mouscron, Belgium, has an automated handling system installed by Salmoiraghi SpA, Monza, Italy, which mixes conventional technology and new solutions employing a high-performance jointed arm robot. The technical sequence of the operation is described and the packing area shuttle loop is also illustrated diagrammatically. Three benefits of the packing area system are listed. The unloading station is located in front of the robot, which is designed to handle the bobbins and packing materials. Four tasks which the robot can perform are described. Pallet assembly is detailed, and pallets are removed by a manually operated forklift. Full computerisation characterises the automation system. Safety is paramount with all potentially dangerous areas fully enclosed. Operator access, ergonomic considerations and documentation are also discussed.
