It is very difficult to carry out system evaluation for equipment state due to the structural multiplicity, the coupling complexity, the functional diversification and the excessive operating parameters factors, this article analyzes the structural features of equipment, a quantitative evaluation method of equipment state is developed using fuzzy synthesis evaluation and analytic hierarchy process methodology. Considering the impact of various parameters in the process of equipment running, the equipment state and its evaluation hierarchy model are analyzed. The health value is employed to quantitatively describe the running state degree of equipment. The weight vectors of all evaluation hierarchies are discussed by using the analytic hierarchy process methodology with the experiences of expert. Applied the fuzzy set evaluation theory, a type of subjection function of positive and negative indicators is developed, and the evaluation matrix is discussed as well as fuzzy transformation algorithm operators. The valuation model for equipment's health state based on fuzzy and analytic hierarchy process is built. Therefore, the health value of subsystems can be gotten to quantify the evaluation of equipment' system state, that is also the state of equipment is clear, which provides us with theoretical guide for seeking further optimization maintenance strategy. Finally, an application of the method in rotary kiln used in cement industry verifies its effectiveness.
