Numerical simulation of hydraulic fracturing process of rock mass based on F-RFPA

Hydraulic fracturing process of rock is simulated by using rock failure process analysis (F-RFPA) software system, which is based on flow-stress-damage (FSD) model. According to the basic equation of Biot's seepage mechanics and elastic damage theory, the parameter, called mutation coefficient of permeability, is introduced into the coupling equation to form flow-stress-damage (FSD) model. Failure process for rock mass with parallel beddings is investigated. The numerical results show that the model could well simulate hydraulic fracturing process for rock mass with parallel beddings. The characteristic of failure and effect of rock mass strength and homogeneity on failure process are revealed. © 2014 ejge.
