Quaker Fabric Corp of Fall River in the USA is one textile success story in the USA that is not faltering under current economic conditions. Not only is the company among the top companies worldwide producing jacquard upholstery fabric it is among the leaders in the US upholstery fabric industry. The company is now expanding its production facilities with two major additions. One is an 180,000 square feet facility that is to be equipped with 36 Dornier weaving machines for the production of plain or simple weaves. The Dornier machines are to be dobby equipped When plans reach fruition the plant will have 90 dobby machines. The second addition is an 80,000 square feet building for the production of chenille yarn. The company is very much focused on exports and sees export trade as a key to survival. To achieve its objectives it concentrates on staff training and retraining for its 2600 employees. It also endeavours to exceed the expectations of its customers.
