Analytical dependences for the power factor (PF) of an asynchronous electric drive with direct frequency converter (DFC) and pulse width modulation (PWM) of the output voltage are presented. Calculation results of the PF for the electric drive with DFC-PWM are given for the main laws of the electric drive frequency control. The recommendations on using that kind of electric drives are formulated.
