摘要
Recently, China's port investment and construction has made remarkable achievements, but blind investments, low-level redundant construction and other issues are becoming more serious. Port is a typical capital-intensive industry. Its investment is huge, risky and has a long payback period, so the efficiency evaluation of port investment is of great importance. This work has established a set of efficiency evaluation indexes of Chinese port investment, in which total investment in fixed assets, etc. are inputs and port cargo throughputs, etc. are outputs, and an efficiency evaluation model based on Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) approach is proposed. Simultaneously, using related data during the period from 2001 to 2006 of 12 Chinese coastal ports, the efficiency is calculated by the evaluation model. ICIC International © 2010 ISSN 1881-803X.
