Activity of Belorussian Steel Works

Contract for construction of Belorussian Steel Works was signed on March 19, 1982. Project of the Works was created by Austrian 'Voest-Alpine Industrieanlagenbau' company. The main subcontractor was Italian 'Danieli' company. Large amount of scrap was formed at Belorussian enterprises. This scrap was charge material for electric arc furnace. New technologies were implemented including ladle treatment of steel. Full cleaning of off-gases was performed. The slitting process is used during manufacturing the reinforcing bars. System for controlled cooling of wire rod is performed in order to provide stable structure of metal.
