Exploring the integration and development of mental health education and higher vocational education to promote the innovative development of higher vocational education. This paper analyzes the current status of mental health education in higher education institutions by analyzing psychological resilience and cognitive emotion regulation, starting from mental health from the medical and health perspective and then taking S vocational college as an example. In terms of the service system, the problem of an imperfect mental health education system has improved by 14.81% from 2012 to 2020. In terms of teachers’ participation, it has increased by 6.87% from 2012 to 2020. Through analyzing the problems and causes of mental health education in higher education institutions, improvement strategies are proposed for integrating mental health education into higher education. It mainly starts by innovating the institutional mechanism, strengthening the publicity and improving the education mode to integrate and develop higher vocational education and mental health education. © 2023 ThinkBiotech LLC.
