Distinguished lecturers program

The IEEE Control Systems Society (CSS) funds a distinguished lecture series with an objective to provide interesting and informative programs for the membership. CSS has agreed to a cost-sharing plan, which may be used by IEEE chapters, sections, subsections, and student groups to host excellent speakers at moderate cost. A lecture would be scheduled at a place and time that is mutually agreeable to both the chapter and the lecturer. Eighty percent (80%) of the travel expenses for a lecture would be paid by the society, while the remaining travel expenses would be provided by the chapter. The group organizing the lecture must have some IEEE affiliation, and the lecture must be free to IEEE Members. The maximum limit to be paid by CSS is $1000 for travel within a continental visit and $2000 for intercontinental trips. The three distinguished lectures that have been started in 2010 would be given on models, algorithms, and tools for motion coordination, consensus in nonlinear spaces, and algorithmic challenges in an information-rich age.
