Monitoring for a brighter future

Billerud's Skarblacka mill in Sweden has been carrying out a series of tests to optimize the operation of its bleached kraft pulp line. The aim has been to get both process and environmental benefits through closer monitoring of brightness development across the bleach plant. The recent installation of a new analyzer for faster and easier monitoring of the kappa number and brightness at several points in the bleaching line led to better overall control of the process and the pulp quality.
