摘要
In order to catch up and compare with global competition in fields of industries, we state relevant arguments here as follows. 1) How could materials science meet the challenge of ever-increased development of advanced technologies? 2) The development of basic knowledge for microstructure evolution. 3) Newly-developed and developing industry chains are output of multidisciplinary integration occurred in advanced technologies. 4) What could we learn from global experience of novel materials and their manufacturing and fabrication? 5) Designing Chinese knowledge system of novel materials and their manufacturing and fabrication. 6) Where is our roadmap? What are tasks of emergency and measures of implementation for the 13th Five Year Plan? 7) Creating knowledge system of novel materials and their manufacturing and fabrication is one of the forward-looking strategies to build a strong state with advanced and powerful manufacturing and fabrication system. Implementing the so-called five development concepts of "innovation, harmony, green, open and sharing" is the key factor. © 2016, Science Press. All right reserved.
