摘要
General interest in drug design and development has led to the addition of medicinal chemistry courses as part of many undergraduate chemistry curriculums across the nation. Medicinal chemistry offers opportunities to illustrate the practical application of several fields of science, including organic chemistry, biochemistry, biology, biophysical chemistry, and pharmacology. In addition, medicinal chemistry courses can capitalize on computer-based applications to illustrate and investigate foundational concepts. Herein we describe textbooks, databases, and several computer-based applications utilized in project-based medicinal chemistry courses from three different institutions. © 2019 American Chemical Society.
