Optimal design of snow collector of a shed snow remover based on genetic algorithm

The minimum power consumption and the maximum snow removing efficiency of a spiral snow collector are taken as the objective function, and a multiple reverse spiral snow collector has been designed. Meanwhile, a mechanical model of snow when the snow collector is running has been analyzed, and the mathematical equations of the snow removing efficiency and power consumption have been established. Genetic algorithm has been used to make an optimal analysis on structural parameters of the spiral snow collector. After the optimization of structural parameters, the power consumption of the snow collector has been reduced, and it has also thrown snow farther, which thus has significantly improved snow removing efficiency. © 2013 by CESER Publications.
