摘要
A previous study emphasized the importance of directional solidification as a tool both for applied and fundamental science. Based on this study, the present work demonstrates for a very simple flow, an instability mechanism and its influence on patterns in three-dimensional fast directional solidification. Focus is on the interaction of the flow-induced instability with the Mullins-Sekerka instability.
