In this paper some experimental results of tribological tests on two different solid lubricants, Tin Disulphide SnS2 and Molybdenum Disulphide MoS2, are presented. The aim was to compare friction and wear under different conditions. After a brief introduction solid lubricants, their structure and applications as well as the results of the test runs on the SRV test machine are presented and discussed. It can be demonstrated, that Tin Disulphide shows interesting extreme-pressure and anti-wear features.
