The effect that the change of wollastonite produces in the thermal and technological properties of wall-tile bodies was verified. A composition was formed using two clays and synthetic wollastonite (WSA). The compositions were ball-milled using agate ball-grinding media and mortars in isopropyl alcohol until the residue on a 63 μm sieve was ∼3 wt%. Derived dilatometric curves have been prepared, which showed the differences between the compositions. The microstructure of the cold piece was charcterized by partial or relatively isolated quartx grains, which led to higher porosity.
