To solve excessive control-model dependence problem of fan-hydrodynamic couplings with sigle PID control system, the fuzzy-PID control method of fan-hydrodynamic couplings was proposed, based on the highly stability of PID control and the highly robust. The dynamic regulation characteristics of the high-power fan-YOCQZ420 speed-regulating hydrodynamic couplings speed control system were analyzed. The dynamic regulation mathematical model of the speed control system was derived and established based on the analysis results. The fuzzy-PID dual mode speed control system was simulated by using special computer simulation software with certain switching threshold, various time constants, various system total gain and various delay time constants. The test-bed test results were consistent with the simulation analysis results. It showed that the fuzzy-PID dual mode speed control method could be effectively used in the automatic control of the high-power fan- speed-regulating hydrodynamic couplings system.
