摘要：
The issues faced by standards developing organizations (SDO) such as intellectual property rights, consortia-based standards development and pricing controversies were discussed. Three major risks faced by SDOs were identified. These included disintermediation, consolidation and intellectual property rights violation. The increase in the growth rate of the SDOs depended on the correct pricing decisions, careful selection of partners and channels and an improvement in the entire standards process.
