摘要
The US armed services are considering the full spectrum of threats from terrorist armies in the Middle East and Africa to aggressive new air and naval forces in the Pacific. Threatened with early shutdown in 2013, the Airbus Mississippi assembly line for UH-72 Light Utility Helicopters will now give the US Army 427 Lakotas with deliveries through the third quarter of Fiscal 2018. The US Navy has decided the V-22 Maritime variant is the least-risk, best value, long-term Carrier Onboard Delivery (COD) solution to replace its fixed-wing C-2 Greyhounds. Unrelated to the Army training modernization, the US Navy still has 117 Bell TH-57 Sea Ranger trainers, and the service is analyzing industry responses for Advanced Hekicopter Training (AHT) options.
