摘要
A 3D microelectromechanical (MEMS)-based optical switch which handles 80-by-80 fibers is discussed. The Reflexion 80-switchpack 3D photonic switch from Glimmerglass, which can fit in the palm of a hand, forms the core of a 80- by 80-port all-optical switch. It's currently used in test and measurement applications, 10-Gbit/s Ethernet, grid computing, business continuity and even high-definition video applications.
