摘要
In its efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, the primary focus for the automobile construction industry is weight reduction. This can be achieved by use of lightweight materials of construction such as aluminium and magnesium alloys but also high-strength steels. In general, use of such materials calls for specially considered surface treatment, primarily to minimise corrosion but also to allow the usual methods of component assembly.
