Research on Wind Power Fluctuation Suppression Method Considering the Operating Life of Energy Storage Battery

There is a problem that when energy storage is applied to wind power fluctuation suppression, it is difficult to coordinate the effective fluctuation suppression with the reduction of energy storage battery burden, resulting in poor wind power fluctuation suppression effect or increased energy storage battery burden. Aiming at the above problems, an improved adaptive moving average filtering algorithm is proposed. Under the 1min and 10min dual time scales of wind power grid-connected power fluctuation rate standards, the wind power is adaptively decomposed, which not only obtains the grid-connected power reference value that meets the wind power grid-connected standards, but also reduces the need for energy storage batteries to stabilize fluctuating power. Then lithium iron bisphosphate battery is used to smooth the fluctuating power, and the State of Charge (SOC) feedback is considered. By detecting the SOC value of the energy storage battery, whether it reaches the upper limit of charging or lower limit of discharging is judged, so as to prevent the influence of over-charging and over-discharging on the operating life of the energy storage battery. The rain-flow counting method is used to evaluate the operating life of energy storage battery. The calculation example shows that the proposed algorithm can adjust the size of the sliding window in real time according to the fluctuation rate of wind power, realize the decomposition of wind power, effectively suppress the fluctuation of wind power, reduce the burden on the energy storage battery, and prolong its operation life. © 2023 Power System Technology Press.
