摘要
Humans are naturally equipped for orientation in three-dimensional space. They think and live three-dimensionally; therefore it is an irreplaceable advantage tobe able to carry out the planning and design of factories as well as their ongoing optimization in three dimensions. In the following article, a groundbreaking, detailed methodology can now be presented that comprehensively transfers the layout planning process across all planning levels into virtual reality. Several practical application examples demonstrate the fundamental innovation and show the great potential benefits. © 2022 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston, Germany.
