摘要
In order to accelerate the development of technique of HVDC cables, the key technologies in the development of XLPE HVDC cables were analyzed and prospected. It is pointed out that the insulation materials, cable design and accessories are the bottlenecks which will restrict the development of HVDC cables. The research direction of HVDC insulation materials should be extended from the attention on the electrical properties of XLPE insulations to the correlation between their microstructure and electrical properties as well as breakthroughs on the molecular chain structure and crystal morphology of polyethylene combined with their purification process. The design of electric field and aging lifetime of the HVDC cables should be directed not on the previous experience but the performance of different materials considering their space charge, size and shape effect. For the cable accessories, their matching technology between the cables, the design of their main parts and their installation process should be further studied. The reviewed contents in this paper can provide technical guidance for the development and performance optimization of the XLPE insulation materials, factory joints and accessories use for high-voltage DC cables. © 2020, High Voltage Engineering Editorial Department of CEPRI.
