摘要
Few methods are available to evaluate deformation capacities of RC members failing in shear after flexural yielding, since the failure mechanism of such RC members is still not well understood. This paper proposes a new method to evaluate the safety limit deformations based on failure mechanisms observed in cyclic loading tests. The new evaluation method was used to estimate the safety limit deformation for 54 specimens collected from previous experimental studies. These were then compared with deformations estimated using the AD Design Guidelines. The results showed that the proposed evaluation method can better evaluate the deformation. © 2019 Architectural Institute of Japan. All rights reserved.
