Continuous fixed-time convergent controller for permanent-magnet synchronous motor with unbounded perturbations

In this paper, a continuous fixed-time convergent controller is designed that drives the output z(t) (highest relative degree state) and its derivatives at the origin for a fixed time using a scalar control input in the lowest relative degree state equation against unbounded perturbations. No knowledge of all system states is required: only the output should be available for the control design. The developed controller is employed in a case study of controlling a permanent magnet synchronous DC motor. The simulation results are provided for a fourth-order system of an permanent magnet synchronous motor under influence of unbounded perturbations. © 2019 The Franklin Institute
