We performed helium (He) plasma irradiation to molybdenum (Mo) substrate with auxiliary Mo deposition. Different from W cases, large-scale fiberform nanostructure (LFN) growth did not occur easily. The experiments suggested that the experimental condition of Mo LFN growth has a much narrower conditional window than that of fuzz growth or another hidden control factor exists for LFN growth. © 2021.
