摘要
The persistent need for eco-friendly and sanitary means of transportation are propelling the use of electric vehicles (EVs). Li-ion batteries, which are far advanced than its counterparts, are widely deployed in EVs. Unfortunately, it can be catastrophic if they are not utilised inside the boundaries set by their safety operation area. Therefore, a battery management system (BMS) is significant to protect the battery from damage, to extend battery life and also to ensure that the battery is ready to be used despite the environmental conditions. The proposed project aims to model an efficient BMS to maximise their performance and efficiency with battery stack monitor LTC6811 for monitoring battery pack, and STM32F303 Cortex M4 microcontroller. The proposed system performs measurement of cell voltage, current, temperature, state of charge, state of health, remaining useful life determination, monitoring and controlling the charge/discharge characteristics and cell balancing.
