Optimal scheduling is widely adopted to the energy management of combined heat and power generation integrated energy systems (CHP-IES). However, concerning the scheduling period and the limitation of optimization problems solving, the dynamic characteristics of IES are eliminated when adopting optimal scheduling method. Meanwhile, the distinction between electrical and thermal dynamic processes not only challenges the control of CHP-IES, but also results in the unattainable optimal instructions. In this case, this paper established a theoretical model of a standalone CHP-IES for the purpose of dynamic characteristic study. State-space based model predictive control (MPC) algorithm was applied to guarantee energy supply and demand balance for both heat and electricity. In this context, the dependency of system on electrical storage devices was relieved, while enhancing the comfort and flexibility of heating. © 2022, Science Press. All right reserved.
