Evaluation of equipment layout in virtual cockpit based on flight operation process

The layout of control equipment in the aircraft cockpit affects the pilot's operation experience, which is related to the comfort, convenience and flight safety. Based on the flight operation process, the man-machine efficiency requirements of the accessibility and comfort in the operation process was taken into account to propose an evaluation method for the layout of the cockpit manipulating equipment in the virtual reality environment. Firstly, based on the virtual reality environment, a comprehensive evaluation model for multiple evaluation indicators and multiple operational processes was established. Then, based on the ergonomic requirements of operational accessibility, posture comfort, operational visibility, and compact layout, an evaluation algorithm in virtual reality environment was proposed, and quantitative analysis of comprehensive evaluation was realized. Finally, based on the experiments in the model of the cockpit, the feasibility of the layout evaluation method was verified. © 2020, Editorial Department of CIMS. All right reserved.
