摘要
In order to protect the climate, alternatives to fossil fuels are required, which can be used for the production of electrical energy and chemical products. One research approach is to exploit the climate-damaging carbon dioxide as raw material: It is possible to transform it electrochemically by a homogeneously or heterogeneously catalyzed reduction reaction - e.g., into carbon monoxide, which can then be converted into chemical energy storages or essential chemicals for the chemical industry. It can also be converted to formic acid, which is suitable as an energy storage. This contribution presents a possibility to implement CO2 reduction experimentally in schools in order toimplement a recent research topic into chemistry classes
